Status:  Temporary Part Time 0.3FTE/ 0.6 FTE & Casual positions

Location: Beaver Bank, NS

 The Ivy Meadows – 125 Knowles Crescent, Beaver Bank  , NS

The Ivy Meadows can accommodate 50 individuals requiring Level II care as well as one person who needs respite care and one person in need of Adult Protection.  A home-like environment characterizes The Ivy Meadows. There are four neighborhoods with seven to 20 individuals. Most neighborhoods have their own living room and dining room.  Over half the rooms at The Ivy Meadows are single occupancy with private washrooms.

 Qualifications:

• Current license with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia
• Course in administration of medications as approved by Practical Nurses Licensing Board of Nova Scotia
• Two years experience in long-term care preferred 
• Alzheimer’s and Related Dementia certificate or willingness to complete
• Experience in psychiatric nursing an asset
• Interpersonal skills, a good work ethic, and a strong ability to communicate

 The successful applicants will be paid in accordance with the current NSNU Collective Agreement.

• Current CPR certification
• Team Leader with Supervisory experience
• Interpersonal skills, a good work ethic, and a strong ability to communicate
• Experience in acute care (one year)
• Experience in long term care (two years)
• Experience in psychiatric nursing (asset)

 The successful applicants will be paid in accordance with the current NSNU Collective Agreement.
